Wednesday 2nd of June

Registration & World Championship

 

From 12.00 pm: Registration at the village hall.

Evening meal will be served at the village hall.

After registration the opening ceremony will take place and there will be a briefing for the great event of the evening – the World Championship.

06.00 pm: Evening meal from the Danish cuisine, served at the village hall

08.00 pm: The World Championship.

The Championship will be held in three different classes:

1.       Ordinaries before 1900.

2.       Ordinaries after 1900.

3.       Hobby Horses. Replicas are eligible for participating.

 

11:00 pm: End of the World Championship; The last chance to make registrations.

 

 

Thursday 3rd of June          

A Journey to the Island of Nyord & the Century Ride

From 06.00 am: Start of the Century Ride. Participants who intend to carry out 100 miles are kindly requested to start early. The route is from Hjertebjerg to the Island of Nyord.

The route starts and ends at the Village Hall of Hjertebjerg. You will receive a map and a coupon for the Century.

The route is on open roads with daily traffic and will bring you through villages, along fields, along the ocean and cross the Island of Nyord.

The route to the Island of Nyord is easy with no hills high.

On the route back from the Island of Nyord there is a small hill (50 metres distance) at the check-point at Ulvshalevej. At this point the road is wide and there is a small path at the right where it is possible to push your bicycle. The rest of the route is easy to ride for all kind of machines.

There is mineral water, muesli-bars, fruits, first-aid boxes and mobile phones at every check-point.

For every lap; your coupon has to be stamped at these check-points:

1.      Nordfeldsvej (at the Keldborg B&B)

2.      Ulvshalevej (at the Ulvshale B&B)

3.      The Field house at the Island of Nyord

4.      Ulvshalevej (at the Ulvshale B&B)

5.      The Village Hall of Hjertebjerg

The citizens of Nyord kindly invite all participants to visit their island.

During the day the local guide William will guide you on a tour around the island of Nyord.

The guided tours will be in English or German at these hours:

1.      11:00 am.

2.      01:00 pm.

3.      03:00 pm.

Those who want to have a guided tour will be picked up at the Field House. After the tour (approximately 1 hour) you will end at the Noordbohandelen where you can visit the only specialist shop for open bottled liqueur in Denmark. The owner Wolfgang will show you his shop.

From 9:00 am. To 5:00 pm. you can use your coupon and have either a free ice or soft drink at “Lille Bod” [Little Shop] at the west side of the Island. Your coupon is with your food tickets.

There are spectacular sceneries on the island with lots of flowers and birds. If you are the owner of a binocular you should by any chance bring it on this journey.

12.00 pm: Lunch will be served at Nyord at the Field House.

03.00 pm: Visit a unique private collection of sock knitting machines.

See how machines from 1908 to 1960 knit socks. It‘s possible to buy socks or place a special orders for socks. The address is Kullegårdsvej 39, Råbylille Strand by Høkerhuset B&B, 3 km from the village hall. Ask the organizer for directions.

06.30 pm: The Field House, check-point at the Island of Nyord closes; final chance to end the Century Ride.

07.00 pm: Evening meal from the Danish cuisine, served at the village hall.

08:30 pm: Coffee and”Hygge-hour at the Village Hall. Two musicians will play music and give examples of dance from the Middle age. Please note: You might be involved in the entertainment!

There is an offer to buy a CD with music from the Middle age.

 Friday 4th of June

Show & tell at the School of Hjertebjerg & a Picnic Ride to the White Cliffs of Møn

09.30 am: Gathering place and a short briefing at the village hall of today’s events.

10.00 am: Visit at the school of Hjertebjerg. The pupils have had a theme about the bicycle and its history. Our performance will end the theme of this week.

The School of Hjertebjerg has 140 pupils from the 0th to the 6th class. The pupils are taught English from the 3rd class.

We will give the demonstrations at a 200 meters track, normally used to teach the children to ride the bicycle or how to skate. The program at the school is free; we are kindly inviting all the IVCA participants who can and will perform a demonstration for the pupil to do so.

Please note: Some of the pupils have prepared some questions in their class. They will in their search for the answers contact some of us.

The School offer fruit for all of us.

11.00 am: Picnic Ride to Møns Klint (the white cliffs of Møn).

The route is ca. 13 km and easy to ride for all kind of machines. It is on asphalt until we reach the forest. In the forest it’s a nice gravelled road, suitable for bicycles. The last 100 metres to the parking lot at Geocenter Møns Klint is very steep; everyone is kindle asked to push their bicycle at this point. This awareness is also relevant on our way home.

As soon as we arrive the lunch will be served at the parking lot.

After the lunch you will have the opportunity to visit the Geocenter Møns Klint, watching a 3D film about ancient and extinct animals, climbing the cliffs or strolling in the woods. Please note: There are 20 seats with Danish, 20 seats with English and 20 seats with German language in the theatre. You will need a pair of earphones which you can get at the desk. The movie runs in 40 min. Remember you ticket for the museum. The ticket is among the food tickets.

04.00 pm: Return to Hjertebjerg and Elmelunde.

05.30 pm: AGM for IVCA members. There will be a flea market for those not attending the AGM.

The AGM is at the dining room at Pension Elmehøj (next to the church of Elmelunde) and the flea market is at the parking lot at the same site at Pension Elmehøj.

07.00 pm: Evening meal from the Danish cuisine, served at the village hall.

09.00 pm: “Hygge”-hour at the village hall, coffee is served; the official prize and diploma ceremony of the World championships and the Century Ride.

Saturday 5th of June

Costume Ride to Stege with Excursion and Sightseeing

09.30 am: Gathering place and a short briefing at the village hall of today’s events

10.00 am: Group photo will be taken outside Elmelunde Church.  After this session there is an opportunity to look inside the church and see the frescos. The churches on the Island of Møn are world famous for their frescos.

11.00 am: Costume Ride to Stege Torv (the market town of Stege).

Lunch will be served at Stege Torv. After lunch we will make excursions in groups, in Stege to enjoy and taste the sights of the village.

05.00 pm: Return to Hjertebjerg in groups.

07.00 pm: Gala Dinner from the Danish cuisine at the village hall.

09.00 pm: The bar is open: Beer, soft drinks and wine can be bought.

The Moonlight Band is a Hungarian, Bulgarian group with an Italian female singer. First 1½ hour they will play quiet music of Italian and Hungarian hits from the 1960’ies and onwards.  After this session the music will be a little bit laughter and invite you to party.
